EPRI
The Electric Power Research Institute, Inc.
(EPRI) was established in 1973 as an independent, nonprofit center
for electricity and environmental research. EPRI sponsored development of RETRAN
and VIPRE computer programs that are used to perform transient and
steady-state thermal-hydraulic analysis of nuclear reactor systems and
they remain the owner of these computer programs. They have licensed CSA
with commercialization rights to sell "use licenses" and to organize the
maintenance and support activities for the programs.
In cooperation with a number of RETRAN and VIPRE code users including
utility, commercial, and research organizations, a
RETRAN/VIPRE User Group (RVUG) has been organized to provide ongoing
maintenance, support, and development for the RETRAN and VIPRE codes. CSA
is the contractor that provides these services for the RVUG.
